Things People Ask
Over time, some questions arrive in our inbox again and again. Here are honest, short answers to the ones we hear most often.
About the magazine
Who writes the articles?
A small team of four writers who publish under pen names. None of us has medical training, and we never pretend otherwise. You can read more on The Small Team Behind It.
How do you choose what to write about?
Mostly from reader questions and from the everyday problems we run into ourselves. If a topic keeps coming up, it usually ends up on our list.
Are there adverts on the site?
No display adverts. Some articles do mention or link to businesses, so compare your options and read the terms before you buy anything.
About the health content
Can you tell me what is wrong with me?
Unfortunately not. We cannot diagnose or advise individuals, and doing so without seeing you would not be safe. Please speak to a doctor or pharmacist about personal symptoms. Our notice Health Information, Read Wisely explains the limits of what we offer.
What sources do your writers rely on?
We start with public health guidance and patient information from established health organizations, and we describe what is generally recommended rather than the latest single headline.
Why do your articles avoid exact numbers and doses?
Because the right amount depends on the person. Stating precise figures without knowing your situation could do more harm than good, so we leave those details to professionals.
Are the stretches and exercises safe for everyone?
They are chosen to be gentle, but no exercise suits everybody. If you have an injury, a health condition or are pregnant, check first. Our guide on stretching the lower back safely lists when to pause.
About the site
Does the magazine keep a record of the pages I open?
No. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Your reply to the cookie notice is the single thing remembered, and it never leaves your browser. See our Privacy Policy.
Is it all right to send an idea or point out an error?
Yes, please do. Both are welcome, and corrections are always read first.
Can I share your articles?
Linking to any article is fine. Quoting a short passage with credit and a link is fine too. For anything more, please ask first.
